IMPORTANT NEWS!  The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health has transitioned to a three year renewal cycle. This change aims to provide greater flexibility for life events - this means applicants should still complete (on average) 15 hours per year of IMH related training and 12 hours per year of RSC if required. The next Endorsement Renewal will be due by December 31, 2027.  Those with a current expiration date of December 31, 2025 are active and included on the Registry of Endorsed Professionals through December 31, 2027. (Renewals will then be due every 3 years; 2030, 2033, 2036, etc.)

  • In response to this change, effective January 1, 2026, the NMAIMH is moving to an Annual Association fee that will include most endorsement related fees (Registration, Submission, Renewal) and Membership at the rate of $75 per year.  The window to submit the fee and update the Membership portal will begin on October 1 and end on December 31, 2025.  This will keep the professional active through December 31, 2026 - The Annual Association fee is based on a calendar year.
  • Instructions will be sent the first week of October.
  • Those wishing to begin the Endorsement Process may opt to wait until October 1, 2025 to take advange of the new fee structure.

If you have questions about your portfolio, please contact your endorsement advisor or the Endorsement Coordinator at:  endorse@nmaimh.org

You are joining an international group of professionals who have chosen to earn the Endorsement credential as a way to demonstrate specialization in the infant-early childhood mental health field. Endorsement was developed by the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health in 2002 and is now used by 36 state IMH associations and 2 international associations. Each of those associations is a member of the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health.

Through the Alliance, this means that your Endorsement is recognized in each of those 38 associations.
